For Power Steering

Pitman Arm | 1988-2000 Chevrolet K3500

The pitman arm is the connecting point between the steering gear shaft and the tie rod that translates rotational movement from the steering gear into linear movement for the wheels. The MOOG-k6335 pitman arm is a great alternative to the standard pitman arm that is supplied by the factory for vehicles that can haul large loads of people or items, like the 1988-2000 Chevrolet K3500 and 1992-1999 GMC Yukon. The ball joint in the arm has multiple benefits that help increase the vehicle's steering performance through quick and efficient steering response and maintain its longevity and durability through its construction. When OE-standard pitman arms break down, it could lead to many difficult, expensive, and possibly dangerous problems like play in the steering wheel, wandering, tire edge wear, and loose or erratic steering. Many conditions can break down the original pitman arms that came with the vehicle from its beginning.

When the Pitman Arm Fail

The heavy loads that vehicles like the Chevrolet K3500 and GMC Yukon can potentially haul can contribute to the breakdown of the pitman arm and other neighboring parts because of added strain from the weight. When the pitman arm wears down, the driver has less control over the vehicle's steering and can cause the vehicle's wheels to wander. There can also be a delayed reaction between the steering wheel and the wheels. In extreme cases, if the pitman arm is disconnected completely, the driver can lose all control of the vehicle. So, a pitman arm made with more durable materials and innovative construction would be a better replacement for the original pitman arm.

What Can This Pitman Arm Do?

The benefits of the MOOG-k6335 pitman arm are shared with many other MOOG parts that allow for free movement of grease and an increase in durability. It has an engineered steel composition that helps the pitman arm resist the general wear and tear that pitman arms go through. Also, this MOOG pitman arm boasts a powdered gusher bearing that allows grease to move freely through the metal of the bearing to the stud to reduce friction and flush out debris that could get into the joint. Finally, it has a cover plate that prevents looseness in the joint longer than standard OE pitman arm joints, and it also protects the interior from contaminants.

So, if you are looking for a replacement for a pitman arm that has worn down and started to fail, consider buying a MOOG-k6335 pitman arm today!

starstarstarstarstar" Great part! "

Its amazing how much wear and tear the pitman arm endures in a truck with big tires. This part is precision made, fits like a glove and seems very heavy duty compared to many others Ive seen. My truck has had three pitman arms on it since new... this one looks like it may be the last! Im very happy with all my MOOG parts from Suspension.com You will be too! Dont wait, fix that loose, unsafe front end today and drive with confidence once again!
