Rear Sway Bar End Link Bushings 91-93 Accord, 87-95 Civic, 87-91 Prelude
These polyurethane Rear Sway Bar End Link Bushings from SuperPro will replace worn out rubber bushings and get rid of noise and help your sway bar further reduce body roll in the rear of your Honda Civic, Accord, or Prelude. Rough roads can really take their toll on bushings, and we have our fair share here in Stephenville, TX, but you can rest assured when you drop into a pothole that these Outback-tested SuperPro bushings will weather the ride.
Rubber Bushings Wear Out
The end links are what hold the ends of the sway bar to the control arms of your vehicle. Since the sway bar is essentially responsible for connecting the rear wheels to reduce body roll, if the bushings fail completely your sway bar can have a lot of play which means you can experience more body roll in the back, and possibly lose traction in a hard turn. The stock rubber bushings that stand between the metal components of the end links have a relatively short lifespan. They used by auto-makers because they are the cheapest option that will get the job done. But with enough wear, exposure to auto oils, and heat rubber bushings will degrade to the point they might fall off completely. When this happens you can buy an OEM replacement, but we here at DST suggest something better.
Replace or Upgrade?
If you want a longer lasting solution then SuperPro's rear sway bar end links are your answer. These end link bushings are made with polyurethane which is a much more durable material than rubber and can stand up to the wear and elements that cause rubber bushings to fail. Not only this but polyurethane does not flex to the extent that rubber does, which makes the connection between your sway bar and control arms more stiff, meaning more body roll reduction. There isn't really a reason not to use polyurethane bushings here since the end links don't connect directly to the frame which means polyurethane end links won't transfer noise or vibration as with some other suspension components. It lasts longer and does the job better. End of story.
