Energy Suspension Master Kit 2.18108
This is Energy Suspension's Master Bushing Kit part number 2.18108 for the Jeep Wrangler JK 4 Door. When you bought your Wrangler JK, you had probably had dreams of conquering the outdoors just like any good Wrangler owner. But now, that dream has slowly become a nightmare. The assortment of clunking, banging and sloppy handling your JK is experiencing is enough to drive someone mad. Energy Suspension's hyper-flex performance polyurethane is a far better material than rubber for suspension bushings. Not only will these bushings handle the outdoors, but they will also stop that annoying clunking while giving you the ability to master the outdoors with your new Wrangler polyurethane bushing set up.
Front Control Arm Bushing Kit
Along with the annoying noises and sloppy handling, distorted OE control arm bushings can throw off your alignment. When the OE rubber bushings distort, your wheel camber takes a hit due to the uneven geometry of the control arms. No matter how many times you take your Jeep to the shop for an alignment, your vehicle is going to just keep drifting to one side. Plus you will have to buy new tires over and over again as the wear unevenly and prematurely.
Energy Suspension 2.3108. is included in this Master kit. This bushing kit contains all of the bushings needed to completely replace the rubber on your Wrangler JK. Energy Suspension's control arm bushings are a split design for easy installation and come with eight steel inner sleeves that match your OE bolt size. Energy Suspension has incorporated the split design into their bushings to eliminate the need for a press during installation. Alternatively, each half of the bushing will insert on either side of the control arm, with the new inner sleeve going through the middle, and finally, your OE bolt to hold them in place firmly.
Front Track Arm Bar Bushing Kit
Also included for the front of your JK are bushings for the front track bar, 2.7106. The OE rubber bushings will be replaced with two polyurethane bushings, one for each side, two outer metal sleeves, and two inner metal sleeves that match your OE bolt size. The track bar bushings are very important in keeping the axle from unwanted motion or sway. Energy Suspension's polyurethane handles much better with high horsepower and heavyweight vehicles, so these track arm bushings will work wonders for your JK.
Front Sway Bar Bushing Kit
A Jeep's sway bar is responsible for maintaining maximum tire contact with the road and the bushing is responsible for holding your sway bar firmly in place. In off-camber situations, basically, any time you off-road, uneven surfaces cause a sway bar to flex and the soft rubber sway bar bushing stretch and lose their grip. Rubber bushings tend to split over time anyway, but all of that off-roading speeds up that process dramatically. The result is uneven traction putting your vehicle in danger of rolling over. As if the possibility of rolling over wasn't bad enough, cracked or rotted sway bar bushings also cause uneven tire wear and leave a loud rattle. The Solution: Energy Suspension's polyurethane sway bar bushings, 2.5112.
Polyurethane is a far better material for sway bar bushings than rubber. Energy Suspension's polyurethane sway bar bushings will hold the sway bar tight to the frame, giving you better traction and wheel balance. These sway bar bushings are designed with a split design for easy installation. Instead of having to remove the sway bar to slide the bushings to their mounting spot, Energy Suspension has incorporated this split in the bushing to wrap over the bar. Using your OE mounts and bolt, mount the bracket to the frame and as you torque the bolts, the gap will disappear. The sway bar bushings are designed to fit a 31mm sway bar, so you'll want to measure your sway bar to be certain these will fit your specific bar. You can find a how-to video on a quick way to measure on our universal sway bar bushing page.
Front and Rear Bump Stops
In an attempt to make a smooth ride, Jeep installed softer springs than usual on the JK. Many people are now experiencing the trade-off of this "smoother ride", mainly the response of the Jeep when you hit a bump. The softer springs are causing the Jeep's rubber bump stops to take a beating, and if they haven't already, will soon deteriorate. By installing Energy Suspension's 2.9101 and 2.9103 bump stops for the front and rear, you can replace that soft factory rubber with durable polyurethane that will withstand the rough contact due to all of that off-roading and/or softer springs.
Body to Frame Mount Bushing Kit
When replacing rubber OE bushings, the body to frame mounts tend to be overlooked. Anyone here at DST wouldn't buy a Wrangler just to keep it on the nice smooth pavement. Chances are you didn't either. Really driving your Jeep can take a toll on the factory rubber body mounts. JK owners are now seeing the rubber body mounts rot away, leaving the body to frame alignment wrecked with a bumpy ride in its absence. Energy Suspension's 2.4109 includes all 12 body mounts for the 4 Door Model. These bushings come as a lower half, and an upper half with all new hardware included.
Rear Control Arm Bushing Kit
For the rear control arms, this Master kit includes2.3109, each bushing position is covered with two half bushings and a metal inner sleeve. There are four positions on your upper control arms, two on each side, and four for the lower arms as well.
Rear Sway Bar Bushing Kit
Just like the front sway bar, the rear sway bar comes with two new sway bar bushings with the same split design, and end link bushings. The 2.5113 sway bar bushings are specifically for a 19mm sway bar, so again you'll want to measure your sway bar just in case.
Rear Track Arm Bushing Kit
The final part in the 2.18108 is 2.7105, which includes bushings for the rear track arm. This kit will have two half bushings and a metal inner sleeve for both the left and right of your rear track bar. Just like the front kit, Energy Suspension's polyurethane track arm bushings will keep your axle bolted firmly to the frame to eliminate any excess axle motion or sway.
