Front Leaf Spring Bushings '99-'04 F250 Super Duty 4WD | '99-'04 F350 Super Duty 4WD

These Polyurethane Front Leaf Spring Bushings from Energy Suspension will replace the vulnerable rubber bushings that were originally installed on the 4WD 1999-2004 F250 and F350 Super Dutys. Stronger polyurethane bushings will last much longer than rubber and hold the front leaf springs in alignment keeping your front axle, and front wheels, pointing in the direction you steer them.

The Source of Alignment Problems

The rubber front leaf spring bushings on F250 and F350s are good for absorbing road noise and vibration but they do this by deflecting or flexing. This flexing can allow the front leaf springs to shift when the suspension travels and throw off the alignment before the bushings resume their original shape. Given enough time and wear those bushings won't resume their shape at all and your leaf springs will be loosely connected to the frame of your truck at best.

Since the leaf springs help hold the alignment of the axles you can experience bump steer when that connection is not held firmly by the bushings. This means that even when your steering wheel is straight you won't be moving straight ahead. If the rubber bushings wear down or degrade completely your ride will be incredibly rough, your doors and hood might not latch easily, and a replacement will be almost a necessity.

The Polyurethane Solution

You could use rubber replacements to restore your truck to factory settings but those bushings will deflect and eventually fall apart like the originals. The trucks we see here around Stephenville, Texas haul some pretty punishing loads that make short work of rubber bushings. If you want a longer lasting and better-performing solution then Energy Suspension's polyurethane front leaf spring bushings for the '99-'04 F250 and F350 Super Duty are your answer.

These polyurethane bushings replace the original flexy rubber and make a firm connection between those axle-holding leaf springs and the frame of your truck. This means consistent front axle alignment, straight wheels, and more even wear on your front tires since they aren't being pushed along the ground at an odd angle.

Front Leaf Spring Bushing Upgrade

Energy Suspension's polyurethane front leaf spring bushings will stand up to motor chemicals, weather, and road salts; all of which will degrade rubber. In north central Texas where the pavement can be boiling at the beginning of the week, and the roads freeze over by the end, the resilience of polyurethane compared to rubber is a great feature.

Some folks will experience more vibration from the road but if you weigh this against the dramatic increase in longevity and performance the tradeoff isn't bad. Also the squeaking that is sometimes associated with polyurethane bushings is nullified by properly greasing polyurethane bushings during installation. Lastly, when we say these bushings will last the life of your truck, Suspension.com backs that claim up with our exclusive lifetime warranty.
