Warranty Information

Moog fulfills their warranty through their individual dealers. That means that in order to receive warranty support, you will have to refer back to the original dealer you purchased the part from. Be sure to check the dealer's warranty support before you buy the part to make sure that they will properly support the warranty. If a dealer will only refer you back to the manufacturer in order to receive warranty support, then you may not actually have any warranty at all.

WARRANTY:

Moog Premium Steering Components carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Moog R-Series Control Arms, Hub Assemblies, and Strut Assemblies carry a 3 Year Warranty.

Moog warranties their parts to be free of defects in materials and/or workmanship during these timeframes as measured from the date of purchase.

If a Moog part should fail due to materials or manufacturing defect while under warranty, we will provide a replacement of the part upon return of the defective part.

Wearable RUBBER parts are not covered under warranty (Dust boots, bushings, bump stops, etc.)

Tie rods are a crucial part of your steering system. When you turn your steering wheel the motion travels through the steering rack, through the tie rods, and finally through your steering arm or spindle. Without tie rods, you wouldn't be able to turn your car. This part is also incredibly important to your vehicle's alignment. If you replace your tie rods, make sure to get an alignment done immediately afterward.

Designed for Strength, Durability, and Longevity

Moog tie rods feature several differences from the OE. One of the more obvious differences is the overall design itself. Whereas many OE tie rods are two-piece assemblies, Moog's tie rods are forged one-piece units. This one-piece design reduces the chance of early wear, increasing the durability of the part as a whole. To protect your tie rod, Moog uses a neoprene-sealed rubber dust boot. This dust boot is resistant to both extreme temperatures and abrasion. The design for this rubber boot includes a small valve to allow for the flushing of old grease and contaminants. In addition to all these other features, Moog crafts their tie rod end using hardened full-ball metal studs. These hardened studs can stand up to much more than the OE, making the tie rod that much more dependable.

The part works awesome as is expected my any Moog product. I put the tie rod end on my 96 f350 and it has held up well, and thats saying something because I beat the heck outta my trucks!\nEven better than the end link was the service I received from suspension.com. they took the time to figure out if this was indeed the actual part I needed and had it shipped to me promptly. The team at suspension.com also emailed me this morning at the 1-year mark from when I ordered the product and asked how it was holding up and to remind me that it is still under warranty!! Online shopping service doesnt get much better than that!

The dust cover bushing protecting the tie rod end disintegrated less than thirty days after installing this new part. The dust cover design was supposed to be part of Moogs "problem solver" design but may need to be redesigned.I think the Moog parts I purchased are good quality other than this issue but I do fear this tie rod end is wearing out prematurely without the protection of the dust cover bushing. Editors Note: Customer was sent out the dust cover.

Question:: Does the moog-ds1071 come with a dust boot? I do not see one in the product photo.
Answer:: The moog-ds1071 doesn't come with a traditional dust boot. it will come with a rubber washer that you will use as the boot on this Tie rod.

Question:: On part number ds1071, does the rubber bushing go on first or does the washer go on first?
Answer:: For part number ds1071, the rubber washer goes on first and then the metal washer goes on top of the rubber washer.

Question:: Is there a replacement rubber boot for the right outer tie rod and where do I get one
Answer:: Unfortunately Moog does not sell their hardware pieces separately from their kits.

Question:: On part number moog-ds1071 does Moog make a replacement dust boot?
Answer:: Unfortunately Moog does not make a replacements dust boot for any of their ball parts.

Question:: How do you install part ds1071?
Answer:: For installation help Moog prefers customer to call them directly at 800-325-8886

Question:: Will part number ds1071 work on single rear wheels only?
Answer:: Part number ds1071 is meant for trucks with single rear wheels, not dually's. However, according to Moog's tech team, IF you have a dually where the steering damper is connected by a U shaped bolt this tie rod end will work.

Question:: Do I need to follow the manufacturer torque specs?
Answer:: Yes, on part number moog-ds1071 and all of Moog parts you will use the manufacturers torque specs.
