This seemingly minor change allows the alignment technician to either improve steering with positive caster, where the lower ball joint is positioned forward of the upper strut mount, or fix the alignment of a vehicle that exceeds the limits of adjustment available from the factory. Using offset bushings to correct an alignment can be an economical solution when compared to the costly alternative of replacing an entire control arm.
