Dust Boots are a small, simple part of a tie rod end or ball joint that covers the space where the stud exits the housing. This keeps grease inside the component and everything else out, but the original boots are made of rubber which can wear down or crack making the boot ineffective. This can allow contaminates to enter the bearing of ball joints or tie rod ends and cause wear or corrosion, reducing the lifespan of those parts.

Energy Suspension uses Hyperflex Polyurethane in their aftermarket replacement dust boots which makes them more resistant to wear than the stock dust boots. Measure your Tie Rod End or Ball Joint to find the exact dust boot that will fit your part.

  • Dimensions A and B: The polyurethane is flexible and will stretch slightly. Energy Suspension's recommendation appears to be to use a part that is approx 0.5-1.0 mm smaller than the diameter you need. Example: If your OEM part measures 12mm then you would use a boot approx 11.5mm - 11mm in diameter at that dimension. This ensures a good tight fit that will seal correctly.
  • Height Dimension: Proper Height will ensure the boot stays seated when installed. It is a measurement of the entire boot, top to bottom.
