Body Mount Bushings for 1999-2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500 2WD/4WD

Prothane's polyurethane Body Mount Bushings will replace the worn out rubber bushings on your Silverado or Sierra 1500-2500 extended cab, giving you a long-lasting body to frame connection and maintaining your cab to bed alignment.

The stock body to frame mounts on the 99-14 Silverado 1500 are made of rubber and stand between the metal of your truck's frame and body. They will help absorb some of the vibrations and noise that the road sends to the cab but these rubber bushings will wear out and begin to break down with regular use and exposure to the elements.

Symptoms of worn body mount bushings:

  • Misaligned cab and bed
  • Difficulty opening or closing doors
  • Gap between the door and body
  • Little clearance between the frame and other components

A More Durable Option

Polyurethane body mount bushings will replace those worn down stock rubber bushings and keep a firm connection between the body and frame. Rubber bushings almost always need to be replaced the longer they remain on a truck since oils, road grime, and heat will eat away at rubber. Polyurethane body mounts weather the elements better than rubber and hold their shape much longer. Prothane believes in the longevity of these parts enough to back up their body to frame mount bushings with a lifetime warranty, which DST will handle for you in-house.

Circles or Ovals? It's Important

These bushings fit a specific chassis that uses an oval shaped fitment for the body mounts. Sadly the only way to tell which body mounts your Silverado or Sierra requires is removing one of the current body mounts and inspecting it. If your extended cab 2WD or 4WD Silverado 1500 has oval shaped upper mounts then this is the part for you. If you have a standard cab then the 7-147 body mount bushings kit will give you the 6 bushings needed to cover that application.

If you find that you have circular body mount uppers then the 7-148 body mount bushing kit contains the correct bushings for your Silverado chassis style.

There way to hard for my truck , I dont even like to drive it anymore and will be replacing as when I hit a small bump it feels like my doors are going to fall off. Editors Note: Need to make sure the mounts are in the correct position and the bolts were torqued to the correct spec. Over tightening the bolts can cause binding in the mounts to cause a rough ride. Polyurethane mounts are stiffer than rubber and cause a harsher ride than the rubber OEM mounts. Usually installation issues are the cause.

They are holding up pretty good. They seem just as good as factory bushings.

I almost went stock replacements because I worried that poly mounts would be too harsh, but Im glad I didnt. These mounts are not overly stiff and ride quality good for daily driving. They seem to have firmed things up a bit and I feel a little more confident in the trucks cornering abilities. Its also good to know that these will outlast the vehicle.

I used these on my 08 3500HD Silverado, which I take off-roading and do lots of flexing n twisting on boulders. Bushings have not cracked or fallen apart like factory rubber has in the past. I would recommend Polyurethane lube on all contact surfaces to minimize common noise caused by materials.
